Yolanda A. McLean, 61, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Yolanda was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, granny, and friend. Yolanda enjoyed spending time fishing, cooking, and going to Derby City Gaming. Yolanda was a member of Created For Worship Family Life Christian Church. She earned two bachelor degrees in Psychology and Human Services. She served as a substitute teacher for JCPS for the last few years. Yolanda will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on August 19, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Bobbie Edwards. She is preceded in death by her father, James Edwards; brother, Anthony Wright; and sister, Carolyn Gathright.
Yolanda is survived by her loving family, mother, Bobbie Edwards; sons, Howard Wright, Anthony Wright; sisters, Angela Wright, Roveta Jordan, Gwendolyn (Steven) Logan, Charlotte Carter, Gloria Williams; brother, Everette Wright; best friends, Cathy Brown, Frederick Dobbs; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
