Yolanda Lee (Taylor) Lovelace

April 3, 1942 — December 23, 2020

Yolanda Lee (Taylor) Lovelace, 78, crossed over the rainbow bridge to meet the Lord, friends, family, and pets that had gone before her on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, after a struggle with dementia, Alzheimer's, and COVID-19. She was also known by many as "Miss Hollywood" and "Yo Yo."

She was born on April 3, 1942, in Joplin, Missouri, to Russell and Martha Taylor. Yolanda was an Army child and grew up living the Army life. She graduated from Elizabethtown High School in 1960, where she made many life-long friends. Yolanda married a Navy man, Charles Hibbs, and together they traveled many places and had two daughters, Lisa and Janie. She later married her perfect match, the late Lewis Lovelace.

Yolanda had a career as a nurse at Central State Hospital and went on to have "fun jobs" at the Convention Center, Seelbach Hotel, and Porcini's Restaurant in Louisville. She always said, "When you are born, the day you die is already decided." Yolanda was a member of West Point United Methodist Church. She volunteered for many local non-profit charities. Yolanda was known for her baking and loved sharing her goodies when family and friends visited her.

She is survived by her daughters, Janie Hibbs and Lisa Hibbs Kron (Tony); son, Mark Lovelace; adopted children, Steve Gaither and Carlos Sanchez; grandchildren, Joshua Moran (Ashley), Michael Kron (Brittany), Erin Kron, and Cody Kron (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Colton, Weston, Zoe, Ava, Emy, Huxley, Dean, and Rhyson; sister, Phyllis Hires (Ron); nephews, Russ and Jamie; and her fur babies, Poppit and Bodee.

Cremation was chosen following Yolanda's wishes, and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date where there will be no tears or flowers, just fun, sharing memories, and listening to Elvis. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care. The family would like to thank the staffs at Westminster, Amedisys Hospice, and Baptist Health Floyd for the care they provided to Yolanda, as well as family and friends for their support and love.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzehiemer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205), Amedisys Hospice (305 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130), My Dog Eats First (2640 Gleeson Lane, Suite 2D, Louisville, KY 40299), Humane Society of Oldham County (Compassionate Care Fund, 2419 KY 53, LaGrange, KY 40031), or to the Home of the Innocents (1100 E.
