Woodrow Ramey, Jr.

Woodrow W. "Bill" Ramey, Jr., 75, of Jeffersonville, IN, went to be with his God on Sunday, July 6, 2014 after a valiant 6 month battle with pancreatitis. He retired from Horseshoe Southern Indiana after spending decades in the automobile business. Bill was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling.

He was born on May 16, 1939 in Galax, VA to the late W.W. and Edith (Calloway) Ramey. He is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Donna (Pruitt) Ramey; dog, Jake; his much loved children, Michael E. Ramey of Pfafftown, NC, Sherri L. Ramey of Winston-Salem, NC, W. Scott Ramey (Sandra) of Lakeland, FL, Krista Perdue (Sam) of Lafayette, IN; beloved grandchildren, Tommi L. Buchanan, David-Michael Ramey, Holly Perdue; his siblings that he so loved, R. Renn Ramey of Mocksville, NC, Elizabeth Ramey-Estrada of Walkertown, NC, and David Ramey (Linda) of Aspen, CO.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Bahr for fighting this battle with us, the dear nursing staff at Norton Hospital, his golfing buddies, Tim Bell, Chris Brazell, David and Jim Meisner; neighbors, Ed and Judy Beck for always being there for us, and for friends, family, and neighbors for all their love and support.

Cremation was chosen following Bill's wishes. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150) with a Memorial Service taking place at 7 PM. Burial will be at 11 AM on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Low Gap Cemetery in Low Gap, NC.
