Woodrow S. "Woody" McKinney, 67, passed away on Monday morning in New Albany. A U.S. Army veteran, Woody retired from Ford Motor Company after 36 years. He was a former member of the Hoosier Four-Wheel Club and VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693. He enjoyed hunting and four-wheeling with family and friends.
Woody was born on November 9, 1943 in Berea, Kentucky to the late Woodrow Richard and Talitha F. (Swinford) McKinney.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol S. (Smitson) McKinney; children, Darin Lee McKinney (Kina) of Otisco, Indiana and Sandy McKinney of Rising Sun, Indiana; sister, Leona Stewart (Jerry) of Berea; sister-in-law, Roz Pickett (Tom) of New Albany; four grandchildren, Tony Judd (Brittany), Kurtis Murphy; Travis L. McKinney, and Amber McKinney; great grandchild, Destiny Judd and Riley Judd (on the way).
The visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2011 and 9 AM to 1 PM on Friday at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service is Friday, July 29 at 1 PM with burial and military honors to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
