Winifred Louise (Bane) Allen

Winifred Louise (Bane) Allen, 99, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at her home, surrounded by family. She retired from Cumberland Bank and Bank One. Winifred was a longtime member of First Southern Baptist Church in Clarksville. She was a wonderful mother that was always there for her family when they needed her.

She was born on April 12, 1923, in Jeffersonville to Winford Bane and Virginia (Nelson) Boggs. In addition to her parents, Winifred was preceded in death by her son, Michael Allen, Sr.; and siblings, Dorothy, Nadine, Norma, and Joe.

Winifred is survived by her sons, David Allen (Cinda) and Robert Allen; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Allen; sister, Mary Day; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
