Wilma B. (Emerson) Tinsley, 75, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 22, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida while vacationing at Gulf Shores, Alabama. Wilma retired from Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. She attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany. Wilma loved to travel especially to ocean beaches. She treasured her family gatherings throughout the year.
Wilma was born on August 4, 1934 in Floyd County, Indiana to the late Marvin E. and Helen M. (Baker) Emerson. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Johnson.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen D. Tinsley and his wife, Jerri of Georgetown, Indiana, Rodney L. Tinsley and his wife, Cathy of Marysville, Indiana, Mark E. Tinsley and his wife, Marsha of Georgetown, and Greg A. Tinsley and his wife, Nellie of New Albany; brothers, Roy L. Emerson and his wife, Phyllis and Gene A. Emerson and his wife, Catherine, all of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be 2 PM to 8 PM Friday, June 25, 2010 and after 9 AM on Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (formerly Generations Funeral Home at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
