Willie Lee Elam

Willie Lee Elam, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Willie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a hardworking man and worked hard to spoil his family; especially his great-granddaughter. Willie would help anyone in need without hesitation. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on July 31, 1944 in Hazard, Kentucky to Ambrose and Lily Elam. Along with parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cindy Elam; as well as 9 brothers and sisters.

Willie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Julie Elam; children, William Elam, Jimmy (Christina) Elam, Pat (Lori) Elam, Sherry Shirley; grandchildren, Patrick Elam, Kristin Shirley, Ashley Elam, Zach Elam; Great-Granddaughter, Nicole Shirley; sister, Florida Holcomb; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

The family requests that contributions in Willie's memory be made to Friends of Louisville Metro Animal Services.
