His educational journey began at St. Xavier High School, followed by earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville, which he held close to his heart throughout his life.

William was not just a hardworking man; he was a loving husband to his wife, Janice Meadows Wiegandt. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and a family legacy to be proud of. As a devoted father, he nurtured his daughters, DeAnna (Greg) Long and Dana Wiegandt, showing them the true meaning of compassion and support. He also enjoyed coaching basketball for the Special Olympics and at Ascension.  William was a faithful member of Epiphany Catholic Church, where he made many lasting relationships.  He had a passion for playing bridge and relished the moments spent with friends at the bridge club.

William’s personality was marked by compassion and generosity, always ensuring that those around him were taken care of. He was a man whose heart was as big as his smile, forever leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
