William Gregory Sowder, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. William worked at Bumper to Bumper for 8 years, Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete for 4 years, Forensic Fire Investigation Bureau for 1 year, Nissan North America for 17 years (Early Retirement), Davidson Equipment Company for 8 years, Midco Kentucky Company for 9 years, Broadway Auto Supply for 8 years, and he was a volunteer firefighter with the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department for 12 years with the rank of Lieutenant.
William always loved spending time with his son bass fishing, going to Knob Creek Gun Range, and Nashville Speedway on Saturday nights when we lived in Tennessee. He was a Christian, saved and baptized at Cloverleaf Baptist Church (Louisville, KY). Greg's all time favorite memory was being able to see his son catch his personal best bass of a lifetime. Greg knew his son was baptized and saved and a Christian and will meet again in heaven.
He was born on January 27, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky to William and Recie (Hogg) Sowder. He is preceded in death by his Father, William "Bill" Sowder, Mother, Recie Sowder, Sister, Tracey Sowder, and Brother-In-Law, Steve Haggerman.
William is survived by his loving family, Son, Nathaniel Gregory Sowder, Sister, Peggy Haggerman, Sister-In-Law, Pam Schmidt, Brother-In-Law, Joseph Schmidt, Sister-In-Law, Janice (Don) Lawson, Sister-In-Law, Karen (Charlie), Cousins, Yvonne Hatfield, and James Earl Jones, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Cornerstone Community Church, (10600 Lower River Road Louisville, KY, 40272). His Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at Cornerstone Community Church.
