William Robert "Bill" Setser, Jr, 58, passed away Thursday, February 22 in San Antonio, TX. Bill was born in Fairfield, OH on January 21, 1966.
He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball at Fairfield High School. He also played for the Midland Redskins and was a member of the 1984 Connie Mack World Series Championship team. He went on to play baseball and graduate from Ball State University ('84-'89). He resided in Dayton, OH for 6 years before calling Louisville his home for 27 years.
Bill was an avid sports fan especially of Ohio State Buckeye football, University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds. He loved attending the Indy 500, spending time with family, listening to music and playing air guitar. Throughout his battle with ALS, he courageously kept his sense of humor and his kind-hearted demeanor.
He is survived by Kelly (Dawson) Setser; son Trey & Megan (Woodrum) Setser; mother Ernestine (Noe) & David Webb; sister Margaret "Meg" (Setser) & Tim Griesdorn; nieces Melody & Anna Griesdorn and nephew Timothy Griesdorn. He was preceded in death by his father William Robert "Bob" Setser.
Visitation will be held at 12:00pm with a funeral service at 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home East Chapel (235 Juneau Dr, Middletown) followed by internment at Floydsburg Cemetery (5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood).
Bill's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
