William "Bill" D. Sacra, 83, of Louisville passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 after a long battle with congestive heart failure and COPD.
He was born on November 21, 1937 to the late William Lincoln and Grace Marie Sacra. He attended Manuel High School. Right out of high school he went into the US Navy, where he served for 20 years. Bill retired as a Senior Chief Yeoman. He then went to work for the Veterans Administration where he was in Property Management, and retired after 20 years. Bill was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3636, the Fleet Reserve Association, and the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels. He attended Clifton Baptist Church and was baptized when he was young.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his former wives, Patricia Blair Moody and Arome Jansawat; son, Bill Sacra, Jr.; and an adopted son, Anuratana "Guy" Sacra.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Arun Promngoen; children, Susan Sacra Morris (Bill), Steven Sacra (Janet), Matthew Sacra; 6 grandchildren, Victor, Katey, Taylor, Kayla, Garrett, Kenzie; 4 great grandchildren, Tucker, Levi, Everett, and Sadie Lynn; step children, Chris Inman, Amy Walls (Nathan), and David; 5 step grandchildren, Chandler, Alexis, Brittany, Kei, Dane; and 2 great grandchildren, Carson and Zoey.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A service to celebrate Bill's life will follow at 3 pm at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen and Bill will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2:30 pm, family and friends are welcome to attend.
