William Robert Meyer

William Robert Meyer died at his home in New Albany on Monday, September 26, 2022. He was 74.

Bill was born on December 4, 1947, in Clarksville, Indiana. He was a four-sport letterman at Our Lady of Providence High School, played football at the University of Evansville, served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was a graduate of Indiana University Southeast. He supported the Indiana University men's soccer program and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Wherever he saw a need, he filled it.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Ellen (Egan); sons, Rob (Pernilla) and Jason (Andrea); five grandchildren, Owen, Nora, Beck, Henry, and Emmet; brothers, Michael (Leigh Ann) and Mark (Carol); and sister, Kathy (Bob). Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Rosemary and Frank F. Meyer; his sister, Rosemary Kruer (George, Jr.); and his brothers, Frank, Jr., and Charlie (Sally).

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
