William David Langford, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his unwavering love for his family.
William proudly served our country in the United States Army for 28 years, exemplifying dedication and commitment. He cherished the opportunity to travel the world alongside his beloved wife and son, creating lifelong memories. An avid collector, he enjoyed gathering character and sports memorabilia and was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bulls and Bears.
Faith played a central role in William’s life. He was a devoted member of Joshua Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he attended every service, deeply rooted in his strong belief and love for the Lord.
Born on December 7, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, William was the son of Arthur and Annamae Langford. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; mother, Annamae; wife, Geneva; and son, Frankie Langford, Sr.
William is survived by his loving family, including his granddaughter, Treneice Bailey; grandson, Frankie (Dorrian) Langford, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Antonio Lewis, Jr., Ariana Jackson, Olivia Langford, Aria Langford, and Memphis Langford; along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A memorial service honoring William’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Joshua Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 426 S. 15th Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40203.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in William’s memory be made to Joshua Tabernacle Baptist Church.
