William Anthony "Bill" Koebel, Jr., age 85 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Bill was born into a hard life but never questioned any of it. He grew up partially at St. Joseph Orphan Home and then Boy's Haven. He worked hard his entire life working as a machine operator, delivery man and retired from Fischer's Meat Processing Plant. Bill was a simple and kind man and never had any enemies. He loved to bowl, fish, watching old western movies and was a coin collector. He loved his family was so giving that whatever he had - you had. He was a great man and will be truly missed.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Betty Koebel; 3 sons, Mark Koebel (Darlene), Keith Koebel (Dorothy) and Jeff Koebel (Tina); brother, Jerry Koebel; sister, Linda; 3 grandchildren, Trisha, Jennifer and Jessica; 5 great-grandchildren, Jonah, Nathan, Isabella, Lucas and Lincoln; and a host of relatives and friends.
William's family mourns the loss of a remarkable and kind man. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A gathering to celebrate Bill's life will be 10am to 1pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
