William Fender, Jr., 92, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on October 6, 2014 at the Villages of Historic Silvercrest. He retired as the CEO of Floyd Memorial Hospital after over 25 years of dedication and was a United States Navy veteran that served his country during WWII. Bill was a pilot as well as a graduate and fan of Northwestern University. He enjoyed both fishing and boating.
Bill was born on August 27, 1922 to the late William, Sr. and Celestia (Clifton) Fender. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Matherly) Fender. He is survived by his children, Bill Fender, Sherry Ackermann (Doug), Constance "Connie" Baugh (Mike); ten grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
