William Barry Hunt, Jr., of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2023, at the age of 47.
Barry is survived by his devoted wife, Ashley Hunt; his treasured children, Austin and his wife Brooke Hunt and Meghan Hunt; as well as his loving parents, William Barry Hunt, Sr., and Peggy (Fletcher) Hinkle; his cherished siblings, Daniel Hunt, Tasha (Hunt) Lehman, and Hannah Hinkle, as well as their spouses; several beloved stepsiblings; dearly held nieces and nephews; and many loved cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Barry was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, on February 8, 1976. On September 19,1998, he married Ashley, the love of his life. On October 17, 1996, and, August 31, 2000, respectively, he welcomed his two beautiful kids, Austin and Meghan, who were the most important part of his life. After many years of working in construction and running his own business, he chose a new path and worked faithfully for the family business, Clarksville Collision Center.
Barry was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a master carpenter. He shared his love of carpentry with many, from making handcrafted gifts, helping family and friends with little projects, to remodeling entire homes. When he wasn't busy helping others, he was watching the Packers play, enjoying cheesy potatoes with Ashley's famous meatloaf, ice fishing, and vacationing in Florida. He was a man who cherished his faith and held the Lord close to his heart. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023. His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
