William Eugene Hollis

William Eugene Hollis, 90, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Bill served in the United States Army and was a passionate farmer. He had a 58 year career as a barber, owning Bill's Barber Shop in Floyds Knobs. Bill was a founding member of Scottsville Christian Church, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher.

He was born on December 20, 1932 in Crawford County, Indiana. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Jones.

Bill is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Dolores (Redden) Hollis; children, Doug Hollis, Billy Hollis (Donna), Shawn Denny (Mike); siblings, Rosemary Belcher, Helena Burmeister (Larry), Ronald Jones (Nancy); nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 11:00 a.m. at Scottsville Christian Church (7857 Scottsville Road, Floyds Knobs). His funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the church with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Borden.
