William G. Graves, Sr.

William G. Graves, Sr. was born to the late William Bell and Helen McNary on June 20, 1953 in Lebanon, Kentucky. He departed this life on Monday, April 24, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by a son, Kuria Graves and his parents.
He was a graduate of Louisville Male High School, class of 1971. William was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Louisville. He retired from Louisville Gas and Electric in 1998 after 27 years of service. On September 15, 1986 William was joined in Holy Matrimony to Janice Wells. He was an adamant U of L fan, he also loved fishing, bowling, hunting, and tennis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Janice Graves; 5 children, William Graves, Jr., Brian Graves, Karen Pettaway (LaBaron), Michael Graves (T'Andrea), and Ashley Graves; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at St. Augustine Catholic Church (1310 W Broadway). A funeral mass will follow at 12 P.M. with burial following at Green Meadows Cemetery (3800 Shanks Lane). A Repass will follow back at the church.
All floral arrangements are asked to be delivered to the church for Wednesday's service.
