William C. Erwin, Jr.

April 2, 1932 — May 24, 2022

William C. Erwin, Jr. (Bill) left this earth peacefully on May 24, 2022 at age 90.

Bill led a full life and served in Navy, attended the University of Louisville where he met the mother of his four children (Betty Patterson Erwin, deceased February 5, 2019). He owned a successful real estate company in the late 60' and 70's. He continued his real estate career in San Diego, California in '76, a city he fell in love with while serving in the Navy. Bill returned home to Louisville and tried every multi-level marketing businesses he could and was passionate about each and every one of them. He became involved in South East Christian Church, sang with the Masters Men and served as a Security officer at SEC for ten years. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grand children traveling to Phoenix and San Diego. He and Marta enjoyed traveling and exploring national parks (especially Niagara Falls), spending time in Canada with Marta's cousin, and visiting brother Don in South Carolina. He was a fighter and survived many illnesses including cancer & a broken neck-to name a few! His fighting spirit, big heart and "life of the party" attitude will be greatly missed. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr and Alice; brothers, Kenneth and Jerry; sisters, Karen Erwin Doyle, Mary Ellen "MiMi" Erwin Hodge; and three nephews.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and caregiver Marta of 27 years, his four children Stephanie Erwin Fee (Mike), Jeff (Sharon), Jennifer Erwin May and Jonathan (Tricia) and eight grand children. Bill or "Binky" as his family referred to him came from a family of 8 children and is survived by sisters, Barbara Erwin Farris and Christy Erwin Reis; brother, Don Erwin; and 21 nieces & nephews; and a host of family and friends.

The family wishes to extend sincerest thanks to the staff at the VA Medical Center for loving their veterans and taking great care of their husband & dad for many years.

Visitation will be held from 1-4pm at Southeast Christian Church in the Fireside Room, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 on June 15, 2022 with a celebration of his life service immediately following. There will be a family burial service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, Kentucky on June 16, 2022.
