William E. Ernst Jr., a cherished member of the Louisville community, was born on November 14, 1957, and departed this life on March 14, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.
William dedicated many years of his life to his career as an Assembler for Toyota, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. He graduated from Atherton High School and carried the values he learned into both his professional and personal life.
He was a devoted husband to Kimberly Ernst, with whom he shared 31 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. William was not only a loving father but also a compassionate grandfather, finding immense joy in watching his family grow. He often expressed his proudest accomplishment as witnessing the milestones of his son and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Kimberly; his son Matthew (Ashley) Ernst; his mother Lillie Ernst; and his siblings, Beth Phillips (Lee) and Susan Crossan (Larry). William's grandchildren, Gavin, Hannah, Mason, Carter, Isaac, and Sophia, all carry pieces of his legacy in their hearts.
An avid outdoorsman, William found peace and happiness in nature. He loved hunting, fishing, and kayaking, experiences that filled his soul and allowed him to bond with his family. He cherished the moments spent outdoors, often sharing these passions with those he loved most. William’s vibrant personality, underscored by his loyalty and kindness, made him a friend to many; he had a unique ability to connect with others and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
The funeral services to honor William's life will be held on March 22, 2025, at the Newcomer Funeral Home in East Louisville, beginning with visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. A burial at Mount Washington Cemetery will take place that same afternoon at 2:30 PM.
William E. Ernst Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication. His warm spirit will continue to live on in the memories shared by his family and friends, who will forever remember him as a hardworking man who exemplified the true meaning of devotion and love.
