William "Eddie" Chapman, 72, of Sellersburg, passed away on November 26, 2012. He was a United States Army veteran, serving his country for 11 years. Eddie was a big joker and could easily be described as the life of the party.
He was born on January 5, 1940 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Andrew and Iva (Coats) Chapman. He is survived by his children, Lillian Lemmon (Eric), Crystal Jena (Raymond), Tracy Bauerla (Jeff), William Chapman (Karen); siblings, Raymond, Darrell, Melvin Chapman, Peggy Plazzo; 8 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany) and on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM. His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 1 PM at the funeral home with military honors and cremation to follow. Burial will take place at a later date at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
