William Copeny Jr.

William Copeny Jr., 98, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 30 2024. A devoted Christian, William was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He retired after 33 and a half years of his career at Ford Truck Company. Known for his warm and caring nature, William enjoyed fishing and was a passionate supporter of his favorite sports teams, the UofL Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens. He was also a long-time member of Bates Memorial Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.

Born on July 8, 1926, in Johnson City, Tennessee, William was preceded in death by his father, William Copeny Sr., his beloved wife, Mildred Ann Copeny, and his brother, Billy Copeny.

He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Crystal Joi (Delmar Sr.) Copeny-Pruitt; grandchildren, Copeny Pruitt, Delmar Pruitt Jr., Christian Pruitt, and bonus grandson, TJ (Alexis) Bargas Jr.; sister-in-law, Delores Crutcher; nephew, Robert Lamont; niece, Gwedolyn Crutcher; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in William's memory be made to the family.
