William E. E. Denny, Jr. (Billy) was born in Louisville, KY on March 3, 1951 and was called home on September 23, 2020. He was the first child of Marguerite Buckner and William E. E. Denny, Sr.
Billy accepted Christ at a young age at the Lampton Baptist Church where he attended for years. Later Billy joined the Canaan Christian Church under the Pastorate of Dr. Walter Malone, Jr. During his last years of his life Billy attended the St. Stephen Baptist Church and truly enjoyed attending Midweek service.
He attended Louisville Public Schools and graduated from Louisville Male High School in 1969. Billy was named All-State in football and later on attended the University of Kentucky on a football scholarship. He was the 5th African American to sign a football scholarship with the University of Kentucky. He loved sports and was a die-hard University of Kentucky and Dallas Cowboys fan and would often be seen wearing his Wildcats gear. Billy had held several jobs throughout his life, but his final employment was with G.E. Appliance Park in Louisville, KY.
Billy is preceded in death by his mother and her husband, Robert and Marguerite Buckner; and a son William E. E. Denny III (Chub).
He leaves behind his father; William E.E. Denny, Sr. (Katherine), (6) remarkable children; James Cook, Carmen Cook Torrance, Neysha Beckham, LaToi Mayo (Brian), Jovan Pitts (Dywane) and Savannah Denny, (10) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren, siblings, Karen Denny Eaves, Thomas A. Spalding Jr. (Vernita), Angela Spalding Alexander, Christopher Spalding, Sr. (Pamela), Joyce Denny Collins, step-siblings, Denise Figueroa, Isaac Chestnut, Jr. and Trina Chestnut, and an Aunt, Mrs. Aline Denny Simpson and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy).
