William J. "Bill" Bensing

William J. "Bill" Bensing, 87, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Autumn Woods Nursing Home in New Albany, Indiana.

He was born on November 10, 1937, in New Albany to John A. and Marie A. (Nance) Bensing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn Bensing, grandson Morgan Julius, brothers John A. Bensing Jr. and Charles (Boots) Bensing, sister June Ducherer, and brother-in-law Frank Marquet.

He is survived by daughters Suzanne Julius (Wayne Strobel) of Jeffersonville, IN, Julie Bensing of Charlestown, IN, and Johanna Lively (George) of Helotes, TX; son Michael Bensing (Paige) of Lexington, KY; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his sister Mary Marquet and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter in Jeffersonville.
