William Samuel Ashley

William Samuel (Bill) Ashley, Jr, age 89 of Louisville, KY. passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021.
He was born on August 5, 1932, in Farmer's City, IL to William Samuel (Sam) Ashley, Sr. and Lela Day Ashley. Bill worked for V.G. Reed and Sons for 40 years before retiring in 2001. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Kosair Shrine Temple. Bill enjoyed photography, books, and classic comedies. He never met a stranger, and he was known for his sense of humor; he was always ready with a joke or two. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Nancy Inyard, four sisters, and a daughter Robyn RaShelle Ashley. Bill's daughter Traci Skaggs passed away two days after her father.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years the former Linda Lee White; a daughter Charmaine (Andrew) Coombs, and a son Kyle Ashley; three grandchildren Michael Coombs, Christopher Coombs, and Kate Coombs; a sister Anna Ruth Cash and a brother Robert Ashley; and dozens of nieces and nephews.

A combined visitation for Bill and his daughter, Traci will be 2 to 4 pm on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, with a joint Celebration of Life for them both at 4pm.
