William "Bill" Akridge, 71, of Bee Spring, KY passed away Friday, March 28, 2014. Bill retired from DuPont Chemical. He attended University of Louisville, was a Kentucky Colonel, Navy Veteran, and NRA supporter.
Bill was born on January 17, 1943, in Louisville, KY to the late William and Waneta Akridge. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Heather Akridge; and one great-grandchild, Emmet Akridge.
Bill is survived by his children, William Akridge III (Linda) and Maria Grant (Buddy); brother, Mike Akridge (Joyce); sister, Dottie Akridge Bowden; five grandchildren, Amy, Samantha, William, Kristy, and Allen; and seven great-grandchildren, Tina, Madison, Dallas, Addysen, Ayden, William, Hunter.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, March 31, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy), with funeral ceremony immediately following at 7:00 pm with Rev. Ben Corley officiating.
