W. Dale Hall, Sr., 84, a former lifelong resident of Pocomoke City, died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Forum at Brookside in Louisville, KY. He was the husband of the late Jean Fisher Hall (1997).
Born in Pocomoke City on December 14, 1928, he was a son of the late Willis C. and M. Virginia Conaway Hall.
Mr. Hall graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1946 and retired from NASA, Wallops Island, VA as a Safety Officer. Mr. Hall was also a logger and a farmer. Mr. Hall was a well known breeder, trainer and campaigner of standard bred horses.
He is survived by two sons, W. Dale Hall, Jr. (Conni) of Berlin, MD and Rev. Gary Lynn Hall (Julie) of Hartford City, IN; one daughter Deborah Hall Waiz (Michael) of Louisville, KY; three brothers, Edgar Allen Hall of Pocomoke City, Rev. James D. Hall (Barbara) of Monroe, NC and Willis C. Hall of Ocean Pines; eight grandchildren, Sara, Kathryn, Kristen, Benjamin, Ashley, Lauren, Rachel and Ryan; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to recognize and thank the staff at the Forum at Brookside for the excellent compassionate care our Dad received while living there, especially Hosparus caregivers Nina Aycock and LaTonya Thornton.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Lee Hall Bailey Forman and two great grandchildren, Adelaide Roberts and Wyatt Roberts.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation at the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A. in Pocomoke City on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM and a graveside service, officiated by the Rev. Paul Elligson, will be held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April, 2, 2013, in the First Baptist Cemetery, 2240 Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City, MD 21851. Following the interment the family will gather for a reception at the First Baptist Church Social Hall.
