Wilbert "Will" Bronaugh, aged 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, departed from this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Will a pillar of strength and compassion within his family and community. His unwavering support and affection were felt deeply by those around him. A passionate fan of the University of Louisville, Will embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. For many years, he dedicated his efforts as a sanitation worker for the city of Louisville, serving his community with pride and diligence.
Born on February 5, 1952, to Dallas and Phyllis (Coward) Bronaugh in Louisville, Kentucky, Will is preceded in death by his cherished sisters: Pearl Lee Hamby, Martha Louise Johnson, Diane Johnson, Patricia Carolyn Bronaugh, and Barbara Ann Doyle, alongside his brothers, Cornelius Bronaugh, Phillip Hayes Bronaugh, and Richard Bronaugh.
Will's spirit lives on through his beloved wife of 24 years, Linda Bronaugh, and their children: Anthony Woodward, Wilbert E. Woodward, Thomas D. (Amber) Bronaugh, Teresa (Andrea) Gentry and Timothy Underwood. He is also survived by his step-children: Anthony (Heather) Rankin, Alvertus B. Barney, and Christopher L. Lenon, as well as his sister, Norma Jean Harsley. His legacy of love extends further through several grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews from Louisville, and two nephews from Cleveland, along with a vast circle of family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A visitation to honor Will's memory will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A funeral service will commence at 1:00 pm, followed by a repast at the Midwest Church of Christ, 2115 Garland Ave, in Louisville, Kentucky.
