Wendell D. Taylor

Wendell D. Taylor, 92, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. He was born on December 8, 1930, in Meridian, Oklahoma, to the late V. Leslie Taylor and Myrtle (Hardy) Taylor. He was a 1948 graduate of Meridian High School. He went on to study business and accounting at Oklahoma State University. Wendell was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and spent many years stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Kansas and Fort Churchill in Canada. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Wendell worked for over 30 years as a public accountant. At the age of 54, Wendell went back to college and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Kansas. Some of his greatest joys were football, watching birds, and gardening.

Wendell is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley K. Taylor; daughter, Karla Herrin and her husband, Mark; son, Clifford Taylor and his wife, Jennie; grandchildren, Nicklas Herrin and his wife, Elizabeth, and Fletcher Herrin; and his great-grandchildren, Marley, Molly, Robert, and Andy Herrin.

Cremation was chosen following Wendell's wishes, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with his care.
