Weldon Mitchell Mcclure

Weldon Mitchell McClure, 83, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He retired from the United States Navy after 26 years of dedicated service.

He was born on August 20, 1939, in Leavenworth, Indiana, to Elmer and Ida (Roberson) McClure. In addition to his parents, Weldon was preceded in death by ten siblings.

Weldon is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy (Hilgert) McClure; sons, Greg McClure (Leigh-Anne) and Clint McClure (Sung); grandchildren, Logan, Brooklyn, Connor, and Isabelle; great-grandchildren, Graham and Sylas; his faithful dogs, Leo and Tinker; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Weldon's wish was to be cremated. A reception of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a memorial service taking place at 1:00 p.m.

In honor of Weldon's love for animals, contributions in his memory may be made to the Humane Association of Clark County (2702 Middle Road, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
