Wayne Underwood

Wayne Underwood, age 86 of Louisville, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was born in Lenoir City, Tennessee and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He joined the United States Navy in 1956. After serving his country, he worked for Greyhound Bus Lines as a mechanic for 30 years. He loved watching sports (especially the Tennessee Volunteers-The Vols) and going to Churchill Downs to watch the races. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Helen Underwood; daughters, Debbie Williamson (Craig) and Deanna Shanks (Doug);grandchildren, Sissy Embry,(David), Milford Boone, Brandi Haddaway (Jim), Ashley Beckerdite (Cameron), Aaron Shanks, Leslie Cook (Chaz), Katie Forbis (Dustin) and Leslee Vessels (Brenden); 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Wayne was preceded by step-daughter, Kathy Boone.

Visitation will be 3 to 5pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243 with a celebration of Wayne's life to follow at 5pm.
