Wayne L. Wiener

Wayne Lee Wiener, 63, of Elizabeth, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Wayne was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and was a member of the Hornickel Post American Legion in Elizabeth. He retired from the New York City Transit Authority and moved to Elizabeth to be with his family.

Wayne was born on March 3, 1947 in Oceanside, New York to the late David L. and Iona Ruth (Baraban) Wiener. He is also preceded in death by his son, U.S. Navy Corpsman Jeffrey L. Wiener.

He is survived by his children, Wendi L. Wiener, Jessica L. Fust (Jerry), Gunnery Sergeant Joshua L. Wiener, Delayne L. Oates (William), and Corporal David L. Wiener; his brothers, Lloyd and Bruce Wiener; the mother of his children, Diana Wiener; 12 grandchildren; and his best friend and pet, Duke.

The visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM Friday, July 9, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana (formerly Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). The Funeral Service will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery (8128 Hurricane Street, Elizabeth, IN) following the visitation.
