Wayne Stroud Evans

Wayne Stroud Evans, 85, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. He was a United States Air Force veteran that served in the Vietnam War and retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville after 30 years of dedicated employment.

He was born on September 21, 1937, in New Albany, Indiana, to Wayne and Marie (Kaiser) Evans. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Fawbush) Evans; siblings, Allen Evans, Dennis Evans, and Susan Poe; nephew, Marion; and niece, Tracey.

Wayne is survived by his children, Janet Hubert, Diana Evans, William Evans (Tammy), and John Evans (Billie); 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.

Contributions in Wayne's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
