Warren Michael Lawson , 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
He was born on April 2, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Warren and Josephine (Little) Lawson. Mike is survived by his loving wife Robin Lawson; sons, Michael Lee (Melinda) Lawson and Ryan Hay; brother Dick (Maisie) Lawson.
Mike was a career soldier; proudly serving our country while enlisted in the U.S Army. He was an 1973 graduate of Valley High School and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree from the University of South Carolina. Mike was a huge UK basketball fan, an avid writer, teacher, fire fighter, artist and carpenter. Among his other hobbies was music, he played guitar and loved to paint portraits. He was truly a "jack of all trades". His country and his family was first in his eyes. He was a country boy at heart; farming, raising bees, cattle and just simply enjoying the farm life.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home, Dick Lawson, Michael Lawson, Ryan Hay, and James Butler will be serving as pallbearers. The burial to follow at Lawson Cemetery in Mill Creek, Kentucky in Breathitt County.
