Wanda Faye Vetter

Wanda Faye Vetter, 86, of Cub Run, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Wanda was a master gardener and loved quilting and, most importantly, spending time with her husband and family.

She was born on September 14, 1936, in Alton, Indiana, to Albert and Hettie (Atwood) Sheckell. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lee and Hettie M. Sheckell; brothers, Amuel Edward Sheckells, Douglas Sheckell, Harry Sheckells, Robert Sheckells, Ernest Sheckell, Dennis Sheckells, and Norman Sheckell; sisters, Nettie Waggoner, Junie M. Perkins, and Lou Dell Bowden; and great-granddaughter, Mique A. Lynn.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Kenneth R. Vetter, Sr.; sons, Kenneth R. (Jackie) Vetter, Jr., and Mendall M. (Teresa) Vetter; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) and on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the funeral home with burial to follow at East Cemetery in Alton, Indiana.
