Wanda Mae (Hughes) Newton

Wanda Mae Hughes Newton, age 78, of Louisville Kentucky passed away on June 2, 2017.

She was born at home on "The Hill" in Washington County, IN on October 20, 1938. She was a graduate of Salem High School.
Wanda lived in Irvington KY for 27 years where she was a member of the Bewleyville United Methodist Church before moving to Louisville in 2013.

She was married to the love of her life, Lovell Nelson Newton, on December 6, 1987; they were happily married for 30 years.
Wanda worked as a Supervisor for Enro Shirt Factory for 16 years before she retired. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents "Ray" & Lula Hughes, brothers Ray F Hughes and Wm "Bill" Hughes sisters; Cindy Dudeck, Margaret Green, Mary Ellen Fordyce and Lottie Meyers.

Wanda is survived by her husband Lovell Newton, daughter Karen Wilkerson (Tim), brother Thomas Hughes, granddaughter Angela Goeing (Daniel) great grandchildren, Christopher Bayens Jr and Rebecca Goeing. She is also survived by her step children Phillip Newton, Marty Newton, Sarah Tucker (John), Omer Newton and step grandchildren Tyler, Bobby and Crystal plus many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Newcomer
Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

Her memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home East Louisville.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hosparus of Louisville at 315 E Broadway, Louisville KY. The family of Wanda Newton wishes to thank all the Dr's and nurses who helped in her care at Audubon hospital and Hosparus of Louisville.
