Wanda dedicated her life to the noble calling of caregiving, a vocation that brought her immense fulfillment as she selflessly attended to the needs of others. Early in her career, she contributed her talents to the Courier Journal, where her unwavering work ethic and innate kindness shone through. A fighter in every sense, Wanda approached life with a tough exterior and a heart full of generosity, consistently ensuring that those around her felt valued and cherished.
Her life was adorned with moments that would become cherished memories for her family and friends. Wanda had the distinct privilege of meeting the legendary Muhammad Ali at the Louisville Airport, an encounter that she relished and recounted with joy. Additionally, she had the honor of escorting the golf icon Tiger Woods during the PGA Golf Tour at Valhalla Golf Course. These experiences, while remarkable, paled in comparison to her unparalleled role as a mother-a role she performed with unmatched devotion and love.
Wanda's legacy is carried on by her loving sons, Patrick Vernon Neuner and Aaron Michael Neuner, who fondly remember her not only as their mother but also as their best friend. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren: Maiah Roberts, Adam Neuner, Trenton Neuner, and Cheyenne Griffin, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Her siblings, Helen Green, Bonnie Smith, William Dale Hatfield, Stanley Ray remains a testament to the strong familial bonds that defined Wanda's life.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wave and Mary (Skaggs) Hatfield, whose guidance laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she became and her husband Noel Vernon Neuner. As we bid farewell to Wanda Neuner, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life marked by compassion, strength, and an indomitable spirit. Her memory will remain etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
