Walter L. "Robby" "Rags" Robinson, 79, passed away on July 31, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Walter was a retired blacksmith of 46 years with the Ford Motor Company. He attended Pfrimmer's Chapel United Methodist Church in Corydon, Indiana.
Walter was born on March 28, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Roy and Mary (Fluhr) Robinson. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, Frank, and Kenneth Robinson, and sisters, Mary Evelyn Robinson and Marie Knear.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Hilda R. (Loew) Robinson; children, Ruthanne Best (Tom), Patrick Robinson (Joan), and Rosie Lieber (Glenn); grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathon Robinson; brothers, Hubert and Ralph Robinson; and sisters, Odie Kingsley, Ivy Hollkamp, and June Jacobi.
The visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and 9 to 11 AM on Thursday, August 4 at Pfrimmer's Chapel United Methodist Church (505 Pfrimmer's Chapel Road Northeast, Corydon, IN 47112) with his Funeral Service at 11 AM on Thursday with burial and military honors to follow at Pfrimmer's Chapel Cemetery.
