Walter Luallen

Walter L. Luallen, 79, of New Albany passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Walter retired from General Electric in 1985 and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the "River Ratz" and Christ Community Church of the Nazarene in New Albany.

Walter was born on May 15, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Marion and Leona (Johnson) Luallen.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lillie J. (Attwood) Luallen; children, Roy L. Lackey and his wife, Janet, of New Albany, Timothy L. "Tim" Lackey, Sr. and his wife, Cindy, of New Albany, Eric D. Lackey and his wife, Lura, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Micah D. Lackey and his wife, Janlea, of New Albany; sister, Opal Martin and her husband, Dale, of New Albany; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, February 21 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial with military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
