Walter "Louie" Bald
February 22, 1959 — August 19, 2023
Walter Louis Bald affectionately known as "Louie", "Uncle Louie" and "Uncle Lou" passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the age of 64 in Louisville, KY at Norton's Hospital.
Louie was born on February 22, 1959. He was raised in the Berrytown community. He was a graduate of Eastern High School.
Louie was a Die-Hard Dallas Cowboy fan and a University of Louisville Basketball fanatic. If either of his two teams were playing, he was sure to be right in front of the television yelling and trying to coach them to a win. He was looking forward to Louisville getting back to the glory days of winning and of course, watching Dallas win the Super Bowl this year.
Louie loved jazz music, was very artistic, wrote poetry, and let him tell it, was a great comedian. People used to tell him that he reminded them of Eddie Murphy. He was always cracking jokes on someone and had a nickname for everybody. If he gave you a nickname, that is what you were forever known by. There was never a dull moment when he was around. We will miss his humor and laughter.
Louie was extremely competitive! He loved to play poker with his friends, any kind of cards, Monopoly, dominoes, chess and especially spades at his cousin Laverne's house. If you were his partner in spades, you better know how to play!!
Louie was a protector, had a big heart, and a giving spirit, even when he didn't have it to give. All his close friends will miss hanging out in the garage and his presence will certainly be missed by our family at our gatherings.
Louie was preceded in death by his sister Vanessa Bald. He is survived by his mother, Neanie Bald, Sons; Jesse Scruse, William Bald, and RaeShon Jumper, grand-daughters; Jessina Scruse and Sariah Bald, Aunt Lula McCoy, Brother, David Bald (Charon), Sisters; Ella Renee Bald, Angela Roberts, Anita (Lucy) Bald, Maria Bald, little sister Stacey Bald, as well as, the ones he cherished the most, his nieces and nephews. Lastly, all his cousins who he loved very much.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 7, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
