Wallace Ray Murphy

Wallace Ray "Wally" Murphy, 66, of Louisville, KY passed away on August 22, 2014. He was a retired insurance salesman with AAA. Wally proudly served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He stayed involved with Veteran's organizations throughout his life, including membership in AmVets and American Legion.

Born January 4, 1948 in Richmond, KY to Ronald and Virginia Murphy, his parents preceded him in death. Wally was also predeceased by his brother, Terry Murphy and sister, Jana Cromer (Gary).

Survivors include his son, Brian Murphy; daughter, Sara Abernathy; brother, Larry Murphy (Pat), and grandchildren, Andrew and Brooklyn Short, Sierra Murphy, Sydney and Shelby Abernathy and nephews, John and Mike Murphy.

Visitation 3:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, August 27 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral service will be held at 9:30am Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central in Radcliff, KY.
