He lived a rich and adventurous life that spanned across three nations, including Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, embodying the spirit of a true global citizen.
Wade's career was marked by diverse pursuits, reflecting his free-spirited nature and love for adventure. He served as a fireman, showcasing his bravery and commitment to helping others. Later, he embraced his passion for the sea, sailing across the Atlantic on a vessel, which brought him joy and a profound connection to the ocean. Additionally, Wade worked for his father's fishing company, further solidifying his diverse experiences in various fields.
Wade's academic journey began in Halifax, where he attended and graduated from high school before earning his bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science from University of New Brunswick where he met his beloved wife, Dr. Jian Du-Caines. His devotion to education was evident throughout his life, and he inspired those around him to pursue their passions with the same vigor he exhibited.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Wade had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, exploring nature, and spending quality time with animals. He cherished every moment spent with his wife and son, often finding joy in simple activities that continued to shape his identity as a devoted father and a loving husband.
Wade is survived by his wife, Dr. Jian Du-Caines, and his son, Jake Caines. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher "Chris" (Maria) Caines, along with many loving friends and family who will carry his memory forward. His proudest accomplishment was witnessing his family thrive, a testament to the values he imparted and the love he cultivated.
Wade was preceded in death by his father ,Hugh (Hughie) Gilbert Caines, and his mother, Arlie Louise Caines. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with those around him.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Wade's life at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, on February 8, 2025. A memorial gathering will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The service will provide an opportunity for everyone to share their memories and reflect on the impact Wade had on their lives.
