Vivian Louise (Brown) Lung, 94, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. She retired as a teacher's assistant from New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation and was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Vivian enjoyed quilting, traveling, going for walks, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was blessed by a wonderful group of friends, whom she played cards with on a regular basis for over 50 years.
She was born on January 2, 1929, in New Albany, Indiana, to Victor and Loretta (McDaniel) Brown. In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Donald Lung; grandson, Ian Banet; and siblings, Benjamin Brown, Hilda Howard, and Edith Weber.
Vivian is survived by her children, Mark Lung (Jana), Daniel Lung (Lisa), Randall Lung, Mary Anne Lynch, and Roxanne Banet (Randall); sister, Mary Brown; grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Heather, Anissa, Jacob, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Antonio, Ethan, Ashton, Elijah, Cash, and Destiny; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
