Virginia Ann "Ginger" Mitchell

February 22, 1947 — June 16, 2024

Ginger Deeb Mitchell, born February 22, 1947, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep June 16, 2024. She will be remembered as a mother who loved her sons and grandsons dearly and was proud of the men they had become. They were her rock. As they grew, you could find her always in attendance at their games where each minute was enjoyed. When grand pets entered the picture she took much joy in ‘babysitting’ them, particularly Pepper.

Ginger was an Aunt who loved to share fashion magazines and make-up tips with her nieces, an avid tennis player for many years, and one who enjoyed reading and solving word puzzles with her dictionary close at hand. Her notebooks were filled with scripture and advice notations that touched her heart. An animal lover, she loved each and every one of her pets completely and held those memories close when they passed away. They were often a part of her conversations. On Sunday you would find her at Westport Road Church of Christ. If you sent her a card or a letter through the years it was saved and treasured. When her parents retired she found a new calling, making soups for the Deli. Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Karem and Lucille Deeb and her brother David Deeb.

Ginger is survived by her sons, Todd and Tony Mitchell; her grandsons, Chase and Luke Mitchell; sister, Janice Deeb Gritton; brother, Mike Deeb(Carol); sister-in-law, Connie Deeb;and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be 10am to 12pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Westport Road Church of Christ, 4500 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40207 with a celebration of Ginger's life to follow at 12pm. Private burial will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery.
