Virginia "Jenny" Mattingly, 51, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, peacefully with her husband, John, by her side. She fought a long hard battle for 8 years, but she never lost her light and magical ways with people and always being there.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Jarboe; fathers, Claude Sowders and Harold Jarboe; daughter, Katelynn Lauren; her beloved Michael Hopper; aunt, Ruthie and her granddaughter, Alessa.
Jenny is survived by her husband, John Mattingly; children, Kristina (Steven) Edlin, Emilie (Corey) Mattingly, John (Felicia) Edlin; fur baby, Kody; her world, her grandchildren, Katelyn, Lexi, Kaden, Michael and Mila and her beloved, Sherry Brown, Jeremy Payne. She was also a stand in mom and grandma to those who needed it. Jenny is also survived by her siblings, Pete Presley, Kimberly Schwaniger, Thomas (Jackie) Sowders and Alice (Jerry) Otto, nieces and nephews, Jessica, Ricky, Anothony, Nikki, Becky, Joey, Nick, Chris, Brandon, Dakota, Bobby and Selina.
A memorial gathering will Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 10am-2pm a Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
