Virginia Johnson

Virginia Ann "Ginny" Johnson, 59, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She retired from Colgate Palmolive after over 20 years of dedicated service. Ginny was a member of Park Christian Church, former Chairperson for the United Way, enjoyed volunteering for Kosair's Childrens Hospital, she was an avid IU fan, and had played in many women's softball leagues.

Ginny was born on February 1, 1955 in New Albany to Robert J. Johnson and the late Dotty G. (Maddux) Johnson. Ginny is also preceded in death by her brother Robert Wayne Johnson.

She is survived by her life partner Patricia "Pat" Oliver; sisters, Janey Lee (Roy Nall), Patsy Hoskins (Dennis), Lynda Grunzinger (Paul); nieces, Lori Hope, Lisa Lee, Jazmine Reed, nephew; Sam Grunzinger; one great niece, four great nephews, and many loving friends, family, and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2014 and Monday from 10 AM until time of service at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Service will be at 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
