Virginia April Goodman

Virginia April Goodman, 71, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Virginia was devoted to her family, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids. She had a great love for horses and worked for many hours at Churchill Downs as a hot walker.

She was born on March 24, 1949, in Charlestown, Indiana, to the late Dora and Vonita (Johnson) Walker. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Ricky Weedman; sister, Patsy Walker; and brother, David Walker.

Virginia is survived by her loving daughter, Terri Weedman; grandchildren, Terri (Brandon) Miller, Terra Smith, and Chasity McClanahan; great-grandchildren, Karsen Leahigh, Braxton Rawlings, Nivaya Banks, Madison Banks, Xavier Bedell, and Vincennt Bedell; sisters, Hanna Walker, Violet (James) Bronger, Wanda Walker, and Mary Hall.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
