Virginia "Ginny" Lou Mathes

Virginia Lou "Ginny" Mathes, age 89 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025.  Ginny was born December 8, 1935 in Winona, Minnesota to the late Chester Arthur Burgess and Gertrude Rosalea Bever Burgess.  A graduate of Ursuline Academy class of 1954, Ginny was a dedicated wife and mother, a homemaker and a devoted member of Epiphany Catholic Church.  In addition to her parents, Ginny is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Franklin Mathes.

Ginny is survived by her loving daughters, Lisa Chandler (Bill), Karen Weber (Michael), Terry Mathes (Bill Bode) and Judy Russell (Paul); 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 9am to 11am at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, KY 40223.  A Mass of Celebration will follow at 11am at the church.

Memorials may be made in Ginny's name to Epiphany Catholic Church.
