Virginia Gayle Smith

Virginia Gayle Smith, 63, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Kentucky Medical Center following a heart surgery. She was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and went on to get her undergraduate degree from Western University and a Master's degree in sociology from the University of Texas. She enjoyed miniatures, genealogy, needle point work, and being around people. She will be greatly missed.

Gayle was born on July 27, 1950 to Donald L. Smith and the late Norma Vivian (Miller) Smith. Along with her father, she is survived by her brothers, Larry L. Smith (Mary Ann), Michael W. Smith (Pattie Sue); seven nieces and nephews; and three great- nieces.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church (2014 Allison Lane, Jeffersonville, IN 47130) with a Memorial Service taking place at 2 PM. Cremation was chosen following Gayle's wishes.

Contributions in Gayle's memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or a local charity of donor's choice.
