Virginia F.(Reich) Payne

Virginia F. (Reich) Payne, 83, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013. She was an avid card player and a member of Wesley Chapel UMC. Virginia was the past president of the Riverview Towers Association and formerly active with Meals on Wheels.
Virginia was born on February 20, 1930 in New Albany to the late George L., Sr. and Opal A. (Lewis) Reich. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Payne; siblings, Helen Harvey, Mary Fayard, and George L. Reich, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Barbara L. Black (Jeff), Patricia M. Houghlin (Patrick), Ruthann Cobb (Bob), Melvin Payne (Tina); grandchildren, Jason Black (Rebecca), Jennifer Pike (Chris), Amanda Johnson (Jason), Jazmin Herbert (Mitch), Abbey Houghlin, Chris Cobb, Shawn Matthews, John Skinner; great-grandchildren, Jacob Black, Alexander Pike, Max and Jack Johnson; and good friends, Janet, Rita, and Ken.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will take place at 2 PM Wednesday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Virginia's wishes.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society (1201 Story Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206).
